Event Highlights the Benefits of Open and Fair Trade
Ottawa, Ontario: Wally Szwez, President at Dock Edge Plus Inc., a subsidiary of the Canada Metal Pacific Group (CMP), attended a gala event organized for the Belgian royal family by the Canadian government. Belgian King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were accompanied by a delegation that included Belgium’s political and business leaders on a royal visit to Canada that provided an opportunity for leaders of both nations to promote the positive impact of free and open trade.
Szwez was joined by other Canadian business leaders as well as government officials in the discussion regarding trade relations between Canada and the European Union, highlighting increased trade in the recent years. Various success stories as well as the establishment of new business relationships were cited, all thanks to the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) put into effect late last year.
The conversation regarding foreign trade was centered on the worldwide distribution agreement CMP has with Zingametall, a Belgian firm specializing in high-performance anti-corrosion zinc coating system known as Zinga. Zinga is branded under Seaguard International, a division of the Canada Metal Pacific Group, and is distributed through various industries in North America including marine and industrial. This product, rebranded as Seaguard Zincspray by Zinga, is a perfect example of what open and fair trade can bring about in terms of world-class quality and excellent circulation in a new market.
About the Canada Metal Pacific Group: CMP is made up of many individual brands, each serving customers in different ways – but all with a focus to provide consumers with innovative and value-added solutions.
